Chairman ETPB Message

As the Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) in Pakistan, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the invaluable role played by the Government of Pakistan in the formation of the Pakistan Hindu Mandir management committee (PHMMC). It is a remarkable testament to our commitment to inclusivity and ensuring equal rights for all our citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs.

It is important to remember that Pakistan was founded on the principles of religious freedom and equality. Our beloved Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned a nation where individuals of all faiths could practice their religions freely. He famously declared, “You are free to go to your mandirs; you are free to go to your mosques or any other place of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed—that has nothing to do with the business of the State.”

In line with our founding father’s vision, the Government of Pakistan, through the ETPB, is dedicated to protecting the rights and promoting the welfare of our Hindu citizens. We recognize and respect the significance of mandirs as places of worship and cultural heritage for the Hindu community. Therefore, it is our responsibility to ensure the preservation, renovation, and rehabilitation of these sacred sites.

The ETPB is committed to working tirelessly toward the rehabilitation and promotion of mandirs across Pakistan. Our goal is to provide a conducive environment for Hindus to practice their faith freely and without hindrance. We will continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, both within the government and the Hindu community, to develop comprehensive plans for the preservation and upkeep of mandirs.

We understand that the promotion of religious harmony and cultural diversity is not only a moral duty but also a key factor in the development and progress of our nation. By fostering an environment of inclusivity and safeguarding the rights of all our citizens, we can build a stronger and more harmonious Pakistan.

I urge the Hindu community to come forward and actively engage with the ETPB in our efforts to protect and promote mandirs. Together, we can ensure that these sacred places serve as symbols of unity, peace, and respect for all.

Thank you, and may we continue to strive for a prosperous and tolerant Pakistan.

Chairman, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB)
